How to Get In
Looking to explore these gorgeous gardens? The easiest way is if you know someone who is an Amazon employee, they can take you on a tour of the Spheres. Don’t know any employees? Two Saturdays a month they have free public tours that you can make a reservation to attend. So make sure to visit their website and grab your time slot up to 30 days ahead of time.
Upon walking you will instantly feel the humidity and be transported out of the concrete jungle into an oasis. The spheres have over 40,000 plant types form over 30 countries. There is so much to explore from the living plant wall, to waterfalls, to the canopy area.
Make sure to take your time walking around as there is so much to explore and look at. Have questions? There are employees stationed all around to answer your questions on all the amazing plants.
Donuts & Coffee
Don’t miss out on General Porpoise doughnuts and coffee located inside the Spheres. Can’t think of a better view to enjoy a doughnut and coffee inside!
Can’t get into the Spheres? The public is welcome in the Understory which is located at the base of the Spheres. It is a self guided exhibit that where you can learn more about Amazon and the Spheres.
Up for A Drink?
Did you know that there is a hidden speak easy style bar in the Spheres?!? Head to Deep Dive for a craft cocktail drink in an ultra cool setting. The bar itself is really cool and will definitely be busy on a weekend, so make sure to get there when it opens. Just a heads up these drinks will cost you about $25 a pop all said and done because they also tax your service charge, which we haven’t seen anywhere else in the city. We really enjoyed the vibe, but we didn’t feel that the steep price tag was equivalent to the quality of the drink. For the same price, there are a lot of other craft cocktail bars in the city we would rather spend our money in. See our favorite bars in Pioneer Square and South Lake Union.
Amazon Go & 4-Star
Need more Amazon in your life??? Make sure to hit up the Amazon Go store, where you don’t need to check out, just walk out! Just download the Amazon Go app before hand, then you scan your code to get in. Once you are done shopping you just walk out and the app will charge you for your purchases! This is a great place to grab quick snacks and drinks.
Amazon 4-Star is a store full of 4 star Amazon items. They have a huge range of everything that Amazon offers from kitchen items, toys, electronics and so much more. It is definitely worth a stop in.
Where to Stay
Hotels can be very expensive in downtown Seattle, but you get the convenience of everything being in walking distance or a short Uber ride away. We absolutely loved our stay at the Thompson Hotel, they also have an amazing rooftop bar! The Thompson is a very trendy hotel with a very high end level of service.
We have also heard amazing things about the Edgewater Hotel, plus the view can’t be beat. We have had amazing luck with these hotels in other locations the Fairmont Olympic Hotel, W Seattle, and the Kimpton Palladian.
