Drinks With A View
Who doesn’t love drinks with an amazing view?!? M Bar has a view of Lake Union unlike any other place in the area. So make a reservation ahead of time and get your insta ready for some amazing pictures. M Bar also has a killer view of the Space Needle and some of the larger tables have fire pits! The view is totally worth the steep price tag of the drinks, but if we went back we would definitely order a well drink, beer, or wine because our specialty cocktails were just ok.
Beer + Games
Bravehorse Tavern has an amazing craft beer selection and tavern food all served up beer hall style. This is always a go to date night spot as we love the relaxed vibe and shuffleboard tables. They also have a dart board around the back of the bar that most people miss! They also have a killer frozen moscow mule that is definitely one of our favorites.
Head over to Flatstick Pub for a large craft beer selection and indoor mini golf. For an only in Seattle experience, make sure to check out Duffleboard, which is a table top version of mini golf! They also have lots of board games so if you are looking to just grab a pint and relax with some friends, this is your place. If you have been to the original location in Pioneer Square this location has a very different vibe and on weekends is packed with kids birthday parties.
Cocktails + Wine + Beer = Win
We love a good craft cocktail and Seattle craft cocktails are definitely some of the best. There are lots of option in South Lake Union but Re:public, Local, and Gold Bar are our definite go to’s. All of them also have beer and wine, so everyone is happy! You won’t have a bad drink or food at any of these restaurants, so try them all!
Re:Public makes an amazing old fashioned and has a nice whiskey list for those whiskey lovers, cough us. They also have a large beer and wine list, and wonderful farm to table food, so there is no reason not to go!
Local has a wonderful selection of beer, wine and cocktails, along with solid American food. If you are looking for a place to watch the game, this is definitely the place to go. On nice days, they also open the windows, so you can enjoy the nice weather while it lasts. We also highly recommend the Trash Bucket experience where you get 3 cans of high class beer including Montucky, Olympia, and PBR.
Gold Bar is a really fun local cocktail bar serving up amazing seasonal cocktails and the bartenders slushy. Have a large group? Make sure to get the House Bubs so you can enjoy it in a Chambong!
Lunchbox Laboratory in South Lake Union is your go to for boozy shakes! Their Cinnamon Toast Crunk, is to die for, cinnamon whiskey mixed with vanilla ice cream and Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal, SOOO GOOD. They also have great really great food. One of the things we miss most from Oklahoma is cheese fries and Lunchbox Laboratory fills our souls with cheesy goodness. Make sure to get Gavachos Tatchos, their mac du jour, or anything with their cheesy sauce queso.
Seattle has so much packed into one spot, we haven’t hit it all yet, but it’s on our bucket list! South Lake Union spots we can’t wait to try a drink from are Bar Moxy, The White Swan Public House, Feierabend, and Bar Harbor.
Seattle has so much to offer locally and so many beautiful places just outside the city! We love living here and love sharing our favorite places! Check out our favorite spots to get a drink in Pioneer Square also make sure to see a Sounders match while you are there! See some of our favorite places outside of Seattle including Bainbridge Island, Deception Pass and Olympic Peninsula.
Hotels can be very expensive in downtown Seattle, but you get the convenience of everything being in walking distance or a short Uber ride away. We absolutely loved our stay at the Thompson Hotel, they also have an amazing rooftop bar! The Thompson is a very trendy hotel with a very high end level of service.
We have also heard amazing things about the Edgewater Hotel, plus the view can’t be beat. We have had amazing luck with these hotels in other locations the Fairmont Olympic Hotel, W Seattle, and the Kimpton Palladian.
