La Push Beach area is the perfect stop in your Olympic Peninsula weekend. This area actually includes a lot of different beaches spanning the coast, Rialto Beach, First Beach, Second Beach, and Third Beach.
We wanted to see some more of the PNW coastline on our Olympic Peninsula road trip, so after the beautiful Ruby Beach, we decided to stop off at the La Push Beach area. After driving past the signs for Third Beach, we decided to pull over and park on the side of the road by the sign for Second Beach. There will be signs off the side of the road and little trail cut outs to get you down to the beach.
Second Beach is absolutely gorgeous. We spent a lot of time just walking up and down the pretty coastline. This was one of the most expansive beaches we have seen since moving to Washington. It has minimal amounts of driftwood and really reminded me of a California beach, just sand and water.
Twilight in First Beach
Any Twilight fans? Keep driving a little further to First Beach where Jacob & Bella spent some time in the series! Check out more of Stephenie Meyer’s inspiration in the town of Forks and Port Angeles.
Have more time? Check the tide schedule and head up to Rialto Beach where they have tide pools. This was something we didn’t think about when planning our trip, and will definitely add it into our schedule for next time.
