Napa gets much colder at night and into the early morning, so if you plan on hitting a winery before lunch, definitely bring a jacket that you can shed once the sun comes out and it warms up. See my other Tips & Tricks for more helpful hints.
I absolutely love a killer jumpsuit and they are perfect for your Napa trip. You will look amazing in all those winery pictures you know you will be taking, not to mention you will be comfortable. They also don’t take up much room when packing, so it’s a win win.
The sun can be very intense in Napa so definitely grab a cute hat, not only will you look amazing in your selfies, but you will be protected from the sun.
You will definitely need some cute but comfortable shoes when visiting Napa. Many of the wineries have a walking tour component to the visit, which may include walking through caves, vineyards, and/or estate. Some wineries will also have you stand for most of the tour, so comfortable shoes are a must.
If you have not tried Dansko shoes, I cannot recommend them enough. I have clocked over 7 miles in them with zero blisters or pain (I’ve had two back surgeries, so let me tell you I’m comfy shoes all the way).
Sunscreen is a must when in Napa. The sun can be very intense and you definitely do not want to burn on your vacation. Since you will want to be outdoors viewing the gorgeous gardens and vineyards, make sure you are prepared. I absolutely love Sun Bum & Neutrogena, they both provide the protection needed without leaving my skin greasy.
Caymus Winery gave us a couple of these Wine Skin bubble wrap shippers to get our wine home safely and boy am I in love. They seal along the bottom (just in case) but we had no problem stuffing these in between some clothes and checking them on our flight.
When You Get Home
You will definitely need a wine decanter if you plan on buying any red wine. The air will help bring all the notes out of your wine, not to mention they look really cool when you are pouring your favorite glass.
