Heading to Napa Valley? Make sure to add Caymus Vineyards to your winery list. This exceptional winery has exquisite gardens, top notch service, and not to mention some AMAZING wine.
Make a Reservation
Make sure you get a reservation to visit Caymus Vineyards. Their garden is exceptional and by making a reservation they will seat your group in an amazing intimate spot in the winery. You will be able to enjoy your exceptional wines in the peace and serenity of their gardens.
The gardens at Caymus are some of the prettiest in the area. There is no bad spot to be seated here. Also there are so many places to walk around and take pictures, you will have trouble picking a photo. We made this our first tasting of the day and had the gardens almost to ourselves which made it even more incredible. See my other favorite picture spots in my Instagrammable Napa article.
Caymus Cabernet Savingon is one of my favorite wines. When my husband and I want to celebrate, this is our go to celebration wine, it is incredible. The tasting here is wonderful because you get to try some of their other wines and brands and they are all exceptional.
Make sure to try their Zinfandel, even if you aren’t a zin fan, theirs is amazing. It is also the only bottle you can’t get in the store, so make sure to grab some before you leave.
One of the things I love about Caymus is they sell all of their wine at the same price as the store and it is easy to find in most states, this way you don’t have to worry about trying to get a bunch of wine home safely. Most wineries will offer discounts if you buy directly from them, but then you have to worry about getting it home. See my Tips and Tricks on getting wine home safely.
Why You Have To Go
One of the best parts about the tasting is that they put your tasting fee towards any wine purchase, which we didn’t find at any other winery without joining their wine club. Their wine is so good, you are going to want a bottle anyway!
One of the things that keeps us coming back to Caymus is the top notch service, they do the little things well to make every experience amazing. Since we went in the morning and it was a little chilly, they brought out blankets for us to borrow, so we could stay outside and enjoy the gardens. This was the only winery that also had free bottled water.
They also do an amazing job of answering questions you have about each of their brands and wines. They are people who really love their job and the company they work for. Another thing we also loved was there was a wine we wanted to buy that wasn’t on our tasting menu and they went and got us a tasting so that we could try it before we bought it.
They also have free valet parking, so you don’t have to worry about finding a spot, or walking a long distance, you are dropped off in front of the beautiful entrance ready to go.
They like most other wineries will ship your wine for you, but if you don’t want to ship it, they also provide bubble wrap wine sleeves and a wine box to help get your bottles home safely. We didn’t find another winery the whole trip that did this, so we were impressed and grateful and it saved us a trip to buy one.
Continue the Journey
We absolutely loved our tastings at Nickel & Nickel, Far Niente, Del Dotto, Frog’s Leap and Cakebread Wineries and cannot recommend them enough. Ready for some food? I have some great restaurant and bar recommendations in my 3 Day Napa Valley Itinerary.
