Port Angeles is a great small town that has a fun downtown and great access to Olympic Peninsula sights. We chose to stay here our second night in our Olympic Peninsula Weekend and absolutely loved this small town.
Location, Location, Location
Port Angeles makes a great home base for any Olympic Peninsula trip or a a great place to spend the night before leaving for Victoria, BC. From Port Angeles, you are a short drive to Lake Crescent, Hurricane Ridge, and Dungeness Spit, along with many other Olympic Peninsula sights. It is also close to the small towns of Sequim and Port Orchard, which are great places to visit in the Olympic Peninsula area.
First and Front Street
First Street and Front Street have tons of local dining and shopping options, so make sure to take your time strolling up and down these streets. There are so many cute boutiques and restaurants along with street art, you can definitely spend an afternoon wandering around.
Next Door Gastropub
For dinner we ate at the Next Door Gastropub. This place has great food and a great selection of craft beer. I love the Sasquatch art, this place has such a fun vibe. It gets incredibly busy, so make sure to go early or be prepared to wait, it’s worth it though.
Twilight fans, take someone special and eat at Bella Italia where Edward and Bella had their first date in the book series
Port Angeles Pier
The Port Angeles City Pier gives you great water views and on a clear day you can see across the water to Victoria, BC. Also you will be able to see the Ediz Hook Reservation for Native Birds and the US Coast Guard Air Station, jutting out into the harbor.
Staying the Night
If you are planning on spending the night here, I highly recommend the Olympic Lodge. We had an amazing stay and it will definitely be our go to on future trips. It books up early, so make sure to plan ahead.
